On March 16, 2026, the 11th meeting of the Intergovernmental Russian-Namibian Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation was held in Windhoek, Namibia. Director Andrey Maslov participated in the event on behalf of the HSE Center for African Studies.
The Commission was co-chaired by Selma Ashipala-Musavyi, Minister of International Relations and Trade of the Republic of Namibia, and Yuri Trutnev, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia and Presidential Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District.
As part of the discussion of Russian-Namibian cooperation in digital technologies, Andrey Maslov spoke about the e-Governance Knowledge Sharing Program for African officials implemented by the HSE Center for African Studies. Furthermore, he participated in a meeting between the Russian Ministry of Digital Development and Emma Theofelus, Minister of Information and Communication Technology of Namibia. During the meeting, the parties discussed opportunities for cooperation within the Program. Andrey Maslov also presented the expert and analytical handbook Africa 2025: Prospects and Challenges, as well as the report E-Governance in Namibia 2026: Prospects and Challenges, prepared by the experts of the Program.
