Adoption of the 2nd National Strategy for Transformation (NST2) with a proclaimed aim of full digitization of all public services by 2029. The Government of Rwanda, Africa50, and the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA) announced the construction of a pioneering smart city project as a part of the Smart Cities initiative.

Launch of the School Box project, a technology-based school management system. Introduction of the Single ID System which provides stateless individuals access to a digital ID. Launch of the e-Title, an electronic certificate for land registration, by the Rwandan National Land Authority. Digitalization of the Ministry of Local Government (MINALOC), the National Police of Rwanda (RNP) and the Social Security Council of Rwanda (RSSB).

Launch of the Smart Nkunganire System (SNS) aimed at linking farmers and other sectoral stakeholders as well as simplifying access to information on ‘agricultural input’ subsidies.

Launch of the digital signature by the Ministry of Youth and ICT. Launch of the SMART Rwanda 2020 Masterplan. Establishment of the Rwanda Integrated Electronic Case Management System. It allows securing and recording of case-related information as well as its distribution among the institutions of the sector.

Launch of a one-stop shop e-Government portal Irembo in partnership with the private company Irembo. Through this platform Rwandans now can access 89 public services via mobile devices or desktops.
