A delegation from the HSE Center for African Studies visited Ethiopia from October 29 to November 4, 2023. The Center’s staff held meetings with representatives of ministries, departments and international organizations involved in digitalization in Ethiopia and across the continent.
A delegation from the HSE Center for African Studies, including its Director Andrey Maslov and research-assistant Olesya Kalashnik, was in Ethiopia from October 29 to November 4, 2023.
On November 1, in Addis Ababa, the delegation of the Center, headed by the Director Andrey Maslov, held a meeting with Ms Anne-Rachel Inné, Regional Director of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) for Africa.
On November 2, the delegation met with Eng. Wubayehu Mamo, Director of the Abrehot Library in Addis Ababa. Since its opening, the library has served as a platform for international cooperation with Ethiopia in the field of science and culture, in particular in the IT sector.
On November 3, the delegation of the Center held a series of meetings: with Dr Moctar Seck, Chief of Technology and Innovation Section at the UN Economic Commission for Africa; Mr Moustapha Mamy, Senior Advisor on ICT and Digital Transformation to the Commission of the African Union (AU); and Mr Solomon Soka, Director General of the Information Network Security Agency of Ethiopia (INSA Ethiopia). The Director of the Center, Andrey Maslov, presented the E-Governance Knowledge Sharing Program. The program received positive feedback.
