On November 5th, 2024, the first Innopraktika Lecture Hall (Mediateka) was opened in Dakar, Senegal. It is located in the Cheikh Anta Diop University, the largest university in Senegal. More than 100,000 students are studying there, with 400 of them learning Russian. Among the country, Russian is taught in 50 schools by 150 teachers, and the total number of Russian language learners is about 10,000 people.
The initiative to open Innopraktika Lecture Hall in Africa was put forward in 2023 at the second Russia-Africa Summit in St. Petersburg. The two-story building is provided with the latest digital technologies: modern equipment will allow for videoconferences and online lectures on the Russian language and literature, the history of Russian painting, theater, and music. The Russian Embassy also donated more than 1,500 books to the Media Library.
As a non-state development institute, Innopraktika aims to promote the growth of national human capital by creating new technologies and products. As a partner to the HSE University Center for African Studies, it supported launching the E-Governance Knowledge Hub in 2023. In December 2023, it joined the Center for African Studies in organizing the Winter E-Governance Knowledge Sharing Week. In the African region, it seeks to acquaint African colleagues with Russia’s advanced achievements in the field of digitalization to contribute to its national growth, well-being and sustainable development.
The Cheikh Anta Diop University expressed gratitude to the Innopraktika Foundation for contributing to its human and infrastructure development.
